Well, I was in it like... in the really obsessive fanboy way (hilariously, I've written no fanfic, I didn't do that until I started videogames). Read all sorts of meta-analysis and interviews, the whole works.

And selective progressivism isn't really that hard for me to believe, but then again I'm JUST cynical enough for that.
