Ha ha, no I changed my mind, I don't actually want to be a rocket scientist
I'm kidding, but lord. Mondays are not going to be good days. All my classes are on Mondays (minus the actual LAB part of my lab class, but the blah blah blah theory part's on Mondays, so I figure it counts). Having nothing on Thursday basically means it's homework day, considering that ALL engineering homework is due on Fridays, without fail. But I've got a fun breakdown of pros and cons!
Dorm
Pros:
- I CAN HAS BEER IN MY FRIDGE IT IS ALLOWED. OMG FINALLY I'M ONLY TWENTY-FREAKING-THREE YEARS OLD.
- RA speaks English. Natively.
- There are a couple gamer girls on the floor, and one of them has a Wii. Talk of game nights. Invitations to the DDR club have been extended (though I'm not sure about the DDR part, ha, I'm so ungraceful).
- Everyone on the floor is friendly without being into making me do "activities". I appreciate this. Forced socialization makes my ass twitch.
- I'm in closer proximity to everything than I've ever been before.
Cons:
- "Water Crisis"
- I'm next to a bathroom, but it's out of order. :<
- The elevators are scary. Thankfully I only live on the fifth floor, but my god.
Thermodynamics
Pros:
- Young (but not TOO young) professor who is energetic and seems to want to teach
- He also grades on the new Plus and Minus scale (as in, a C+ is actually a fraction higher than a C on GPA... we'd been on straight scale this whole time. I'm a little pissed they waited until NOW to do that, I had a fuck ton of C+ classes)
- The format of the class hasn't changed and there's a good chance I have half the homework done already to use as a check!
Cons:
- Oh shit, what if I get a D-, is that a fail now?
- It's thermo. It has three exams and a final.
- I'm still shit at tests.
Aerodynamics II (aka, Fluid Mechanics without Bernoulli)
Pros:
- If I pass, I'm done with this shit.
- Prof remembers me? Could be a good thing? He doesn't seem to entirely hate me?
Cons:
- Omg, I hate this professor. I LOATHE him. He's so full of himself. He's everything I find wrong with academia in one smug package.
- "Professional Wednesdays"? Alright, I'm all for making kids my age less sloppy, but there are far better ways to go about it. ALSO I HAVE WORKED PROFESSIONAL JOBS AND THEY LET ME WEAR HATS. GET THE FUCK OUT.
- Can I mention I. Hate. This Professor. If this class weren't required... goddammit. I wish I could make a deal and get out of it. Really. But I'll do it, because fuck if I'm letting that smug bastard screw me over AGAIN due to his "peer review" bullshit.
Differential Equations II
Pros:
- ADORABLE prof. I just want to put him in my pocket.
- Class isn't full of competitive jerkoffs.
- Homework isn't graded yay!
- LAST MATH CLASS EVER
Cons:
- Prof goes a little fast. Hopefully my taking the class again for the hell of it last fall and thus LEARNING shit will help.
- Quizzes every day? Huh? AT least it's only one problem. Not a lot.
- Hard subject period.
Advanced Dynamics
Pros:
- HEEE CALI PROF AGAIN
- He remembered me!
- I like his teaching style!
- I love the subject matter even if there's more math this time!
- Yay!
Cons:
- Um... math? Maybe? We'll see.
Design of Aerospace Structures
Pros:
- YES I WAS RIGHT IT INVOLVES MORE WRITING THAN MATH.
- YES THIS PROF IS STILL OLD AND FOCUSES ON FUZZY THINGS.
- YES THIS SUBJECT MATTER IS EASIER.
Cons:
- Not as cool as dynamics
- Possibly boring
Controls Lab
- Eh. Will live.
