but I will start with FFIV because I am predictable.

(And if you are really bored I will also request Firefly.)

1. The first character I fell in love with: Cecil, actually.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Yang.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Kain, though, not that I don't like him, I just don't nearly feel as compelled by his stuff. Everyone else's angst is just so much more awesome.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Tellah. XD
5. The character I would shag anytime: Rosa and Rydia. At once.
6. The character I'd want to be like: Cecil.
7. The character I'd slap: Edward, but affectionately! I do like him! I just think it would be hilarious.
8. A pairing that I love: Cecil/Rosa. Still my favorite main character canon pairing.
9. A pairing that I despise: Kain/anyone. XD Except maybe widowed!Rosa, but not prematurely so. He kind of needs to get over himself first, and too often this means an epically epic story that I get bored with.
10. Favorite character: Cecil and Rosa are pretty much tied. Also Rydia.

12. What are my five least favorite things about the fandom (1) The tendency for the awesome hero to be overlooked. Dude, he has angst too. I figured people would be all over that. (2) Edge being the fandom buttmonkey. He's cool! (3) The tendency towards really flowery language. Old school and chivalric doesn't mean you have to sound stiff. (4) Lack of femmeslash (5) Not enough Tellah or Yang!
13. Who are my five favorite characters: Cecil, Rosa, Tellah, Rydia, Yang
14. Who are my five least favorite characters: pretty much the bad guys, minus Kain. the good guys were just so much awesome.
15. What are my five favorite pairings: Cecil/Rosa, Rosa/Rydia, Edge/Rydia, Edward/Edge (yes), Edward/Anna (it's so sad!)

What are my five least favorite pairings: Kain/Rydia (dude, her mom not to mention he's way too stiff for her), Kain/Rosa (minus when they were kids or after Cecil's death, which could be cute), Cecil/Rydia (I like gen with them), Cecil/Edward (I've seen it, not so impressed), Golbez/Anyone (badtouch!)
17. Which character are you most like: ~~Tellah~~ You know, I'm really not enough like any of them to say.
18. What is my deep, dark fandom secret: I do enjoy a well-written Kain/Cecil once in a while.

Well, this is widowed in the "they lived a long natural life and Kain just happens to be around longer" type widowed. XD KILLING Cecil off is the way to disappoint me.

Ah, I see. XD I don't dislike Cecil, but I sometimes think that (given the realities of politics) his paladin-ness is apt to get him in a whole big lot of trouble sometimes, possibly leading to his death.

And I think he's a lot smarter than people tend to give him credit for. ^^

Oh he's definitely not dumb! I just wonder how the conflict gets resolved when idealism (we saved the world, etc.) comes into conflict with reality--the default assumption *should be* that the people of Fabul, Damcyan, Mysidia, and Eblan hate the people of Baron and don't understand why their rulers are so friendly with Cecil after what the Red Wings did, and I have my doubts that Joe the Plumber is going to understand, much less accept, the explanation of GOLBEZ MAGIC GO.

That's one of the things I'm messing around with in Every Light, because I really want to know how that works out.

And it's also old style politics, where a change of monarch really would make a massive difference to people.

Yes. And also I have to wonder how good a ruler Odin was - the kingdom's had at least a year of evil rulership at worst and no rulership at best, so Cecil has to reassemble the mechanics of government.

Given that we also know that Baron has a noble class (cf. the information about Rosa being noble-born in the instruction booklet for the DS remake) I assume that Baron operates on a largely feudal structure, meaning that the nobility probably got a heady taste of power while Cecil et al. were off saving the world, and they are unlikely to want to give that up now that he's back and being like "o hai, I iz king nao." So I wonder how that plays out, also.

Mal/Inara and Inara/Kaylee = total, total favorites. YESSSSS.

Also I have a fic rec to dig up for you. It's a long multichapter that's still ongoing, but it's written in "episodes", so it's more like a collection of smaller stories tied together. ANYWAY, it operates after the movie but [spoiler] and [spoiler] both survive, which makes me totally happy because WHY DID THEY HAVE TO DIE.
