1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.

I like Reno, mostly. I like the canon Reno we get to see, and I actually liked AC!Reno. I don't see him as a complete badass or a complete slacker, and that's really where he lies in canon.

I however hate most fanon Renos with a burning passion.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?

Him? No. His organization? Yes.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?

No, but I can see his type of person being a friend of mine.

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?

I love FF7, duh.

5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)

I like Reno with anyone that's not a Turk, really. He's probably the closest to a normal person that group has, so I just see any Turk relationships being very platonic, almost familial. Also, I'm on crack. So:

Reno/Aeris: My favorite doomed to fail relationship ever, really. I'll admit to being a little sadistic and enjoying him pining over people. XD

Reno/Tifa: Pretty much because of Drakon. Tifa goes well with a lot of different people, though.

Reno/Cloud: If I were to slash him, it'd be with Cloud. Because it would be awesome.

Reno/Cid: Same deal. Ironically, these are all the guys I don't like to write slash about. But I like reading it.

Reno and Rude are hetero lifemates. It just is. It just feels incestuous otherwise to me.

Reno and Elena strikes me as wonderful teasing fun. I don't think they're BFF, but they're family. It just is. XD

No, he's right in the middle. However boozehound!womanizer!Reno is on my most hated list. I pretty much have to be recced fic about him. XD

I'd say, "this kid is cool".

Quite, which means I can't stand a lot of fic about him. XD That's just statistics, though.

You forget the - I was raised in an abusive household, don't you want to have pity-sex with me - Reno.

There is a stunning amount of bad Turk!fic out there. (It's almost equal to the amount of bad Vincent fic out there). I think that people just tend to forget what they actually are.

If you are going to feel mopey about killing ppl, it's not very condusive to your way of living.

I'm ambivalent. I like the idea of her more than what she turned out to be. She seemed a little flat for all the potential she had. Prolly the fault of the plotlines more than her, so I can't really say.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?

Yup. Stuff involving her kind of drives a good portion of the Before Crisis plots.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?

Yes and no. She just seems so lost, which is something I can identify with, but then... it's hard to say. There wasn't THAT much room for characterization.

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?

I liked BC more than I thought I would. I was a little skeptical, but then it turned out to be my favorite Complication extra. I wished it would have explored more things and possibly been on a platform that I COULD PLAY IT ON.

5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)

No, I don't ship her with anyone. Partly due to the fact I still need to grok her, and partly due to the fact I'd like to see her develop more as a person before throwing that in.

But...

Veld and Elfe - I will admit to finding their relations sad as freaking hell. Because you know Veld wasn't actually around much. You get that feeling, else he wouldn't feel so damn guilty concerning her. And I'm also of the belief, unlike most, that she wouldn't be particularly happy to see him after all that time.

I mean, kids love their parents, but things got really messed up.

This basically means I need to write some about these two. XD I keep getting distracted by shinies! I even have that part of the backstory worked out in my head!

Make her more charismatic. I realize that they didn't make her very charismatic on purpose, but she could have used a little.

I'd probably want to adopt her. XD

No, not really. There's a lot unsaid. But she's important to one of my favorites, so I at least like her.

There's a BC fanbase? Kidding. I know there is, but it's mostly centered on the Turks. Which is cool, even if some of the new kids strike me as bad Mary Sues and Gary Stus. XD

While I don’t see their relationship as having a happily ever after I could see them making emends. You know more about the canon than I do but it seems Elfe could understand Veld's position in thing. Though, I maybe see it this way because Veld should have an okay ending with one of his girls.

It’s weird to think she wouldn’t be charismatic I thought that was the type of rebel leader she was supposed to be. I mean I may have imagined Tifa hero worshipping her way back when.

And yes, I totally imagine them making amends. But it would have to be on Elfe's terms. She'd need a little time to really process it--I mean, how weird would it be figuring out your dad was in charge of people that hunted down your friends?

I'd also like to give him at least a little peace there, because I think he's a well-meaning dad, even if things get in the way. I mean, he dropped everything as soon as he found out she was alive.

So, I agree with you, it's just the few stories I've seen with her and Veld after the mess struck me as a little--too quickly meshing. If Elfe's anything like him, she's got to be a little stubborn.

Yeah, she was totally uncharismatic. It was weird. They even say that in her description somewhere. Like, they kind of treat her like a puppet leader--I'd imagine Tifa hero worshipping her based on reputation, though.

Alright, so, I really really like FFX!Rikku. Note that I specify. I didn't really like what they did with her in X-2, because she kind of turned into a cartoon. If that makes any sense. I still had fun, and I will admit the thong is hot, but I just really liked her when you first meet her. FFX prolly has my favorite young characters from the games (I'm serious).

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?

Not VITALLY, but things would not be the same without Rikku.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?

Alright, while Yuna hits buttons about responsibility and duty, Rikku hits pretty much all the others. The geeky mechanicalness, the energy, the kind of down to earth wisdom--and her devotion to family and life was just... it really pinged. I don't normally like the "spunky girl" characters, but Rikku was a lot more than the typical type to me.

Also, she's the kind of girl I used to be, so I feel a little connection.

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?

I am so in love with FFX it isn't even funny. I even liked FFX-2 to some extent (some parts I could take or leave ~~the Crimson Squad nonsense~~). But FFX was kind of an emotional experience for me and at the time I played it, I really needed an escape, so...

The fandom, well, I like it fine?

5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)

Rikku/Tidus: Alright, I'm out of the closet there. I mean, I did enjoy actually watching Yuna and Tidus fall for each other instead of it appearing out of thin air, but I kind of thought he clicked more with Rikku. I'm weird, though. XD

Rikku/Wakka: Because Yevonite/Al-Bhed is full of fun.

Rikku/Yuna: Because I bring the femmeslash, and even if they're cousins they can't have babies. It would be good for Yuna, I think. Again, I'm weird.

Rikku/Lulu: Ok, Rikku obviously thinks Lulu is the most awesome person ever, and while I don't typically like these kinds of pairings (you know, hero worshipish based) but this one seems very interesting ~~and hot~~

Rikku and Anyone In the Party: Dude, I just love watching her bounce off everyone. FFX just needed her or else you would need an antidepressant.

I'd bring back some of her FFX depth in FFX-2.

She's totally one of my favorites, actually. I need to write more about her.

Yes, but I've noticed that this coincides with the disturbing tendency to pair "hyper" young girls with slightly psychotic old men which may or may not be an overlay from another fandom despite being a vastly different dynamic.

Alright, so I could not stand him at first, because being a nerdy little thing, I have no tolerance for bullies. But then, I remembered I sort of was one, and I don't know, the kid's got a kind of charisma to him.

Plus, he's fun to RP. This is how most people win me over. XD

I think so. He's a great catalyst.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?

.......Maybe a little.

FF8 strikes me as batshit crazy, but I like a few people that hang around it. XD

I freaking adore the platonic threesome with him and Raijin and Fujin. It's a great contrast to "I'm a loner, see I'M A LONER" Squall.

Seifer/Squall: Because I'm unoriginal. I'll admit that. I really really didn't want to like it and I rather hate most of what I read concerning it, but I kind of want to write it.

Seifer/Selphie: I think this would rock so hard.

Seifer/Xu: I kind of prefer this chick to Quistis in the whole "someone that could kick his ass and he'll like it" realm.

Seifer/possessed!Edea: C'mon, it's hot.

I'd make the kid take some rhetoric lessons. C'mon Seifer, you need to learn to make better speeches and the world would be eating out of your hand.

Definitely a friendly rivalry of butting heads. I'd call him gay a lot and watch him puff up.

He is my type. The kind whose heads I seem to be able to get into easily. Between him and Yuna I just about died of awesome in FFX, really.

In the "witness to history" kind of way. It's complicated.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?

Yes, which is funny, because I'm a 22 year old girl, and not a middle aged man. But I don't know, I've just always really identified with those types. I blame shoving a lot of life into a short period of time. XD

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?

Admittedly, I don't read much, but it's hard to balance multiple game fandoms. They seem pretty cool.

5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)

Braska/Auron/Jecht: I'm sorry, I just could not ignore the various amounts of subtext. I like it pretty much on any level, but will probably never write it, as there is plenty and I kind of like old!Auron better than young!Auron if that makes any sense.

Auron/Lulu: I've warmed up to it, I didn't really think it made any sense at first, but there's a certain "let the young kids be the heroes" quality that's rather cute.

Auron-Yuna: Alright, I cannot get enough gen of these two. Really. I just love it when he pulls ou the disapproving voice, and the times she doesn't automatically do what he says. It's probably my favorite dynamic in FFX.

Auron-Tidus: I like that he looks after Braska and Jecht's kids, really. <3

Hahahaha. I only do fanworks for FF7/FFX/FF8 because those are the only ones I've finished. The others I have varying degrees of unfinishedness and watching other people play them. XD Like, FFIV I know entirely by watching someone play most of the game, and FFVI I just haven't finished.

My first impression wasn't good, because I wasn't paying attention very well because I hate the junction system like fire. While I'm kind of drawn to the tough yet vulnerable types, she was a little hard to grok, probably the fault of the general storyline. XD But I like her.

I'm of the opinion all the kids are.

I thought I would, but not entirely. I related more to Rinoa, which probably makes me seem like a weird person now. I do however identify with the "big sister" thing she tries. I have that tendency with people.

I'm a little intimidated by the fandom, to be perfectly honest. XD

Quistis/Irvine: This is probably my favorite for her, to be honest. Girl doesn't need drama, and Irvine seems to shrug off drama. Whenever I get back around to writing for it, this will at least be in the background. XD

Quistis/Rinoa: Though, more friends with benefits than anything. Both girls could use some stability.

Quistis/Xu: I like femmeslash, this is really my only excuse. XD

Quistis/Seifer: Pretty much only when it's well written. I see this falling under the trap of "everyone else has someone, so they fit together!" thing a lot.

Quistis/Zell: Because it would be hilarious and I still need to read Sev's collab that has some of this. XD
