ALMOST THERE

Stayed home today, so I am doing work stuff and other stuff kind of interchangeably. Had a ridiculously awesome breakfast and didn't have to change out of my pajamas and drive. Win.

So someone posted a few of the Complication soundtracks, and I have to say, I'm a little charmed by the Before Crisis one. Doesn't hurt that I find Before Crisis to be one of the few semi-worthwhile parts of the Complication. It's all orchestral-techno spy sounding stuff, which ah, I love. Anyway, if you didn't catch the link on ff_press, it's right here. There's something ironic about it being posted to a yaoi comm.

Funnily enough, the music makes me think of working on Grow Up And Blow Away. Techno Western Noir, anyone?

Have figured out that I can take a carry-on that's big enough to carry a costume and a change of clothes, will still need to check a bag due to the Edea dress being, well, huge. Also since I'm bringing another pair of boots and stuff like that, I need that suitcase anyway. In order to save room in the hotel room, I'll not take the carry-on with me there, just leave it at Jana's (IS THAT OK, JANA?). Trying not to take up too much room, but Edea = lots of stuff no matter what I do. XD Will put the stuff I've made for other people in the carry-on also, so there's no issues with the stuff possibly getting lost. I hope NOTHING gets lost or delayed, but I run on the pessimistic side.

Also, Otakon peeps, I can't take the new camera, since my parents just got it. But between Sev and Jana we're covered, right?



- Locate all jewelry I'm taking. Some of it is "just in case" stuff, since I'm like the queen of costume jewelry, and I want to make sure we're all equipped right.
- Write up list of things you need to get there at the beauty supply store (like purple lipstick) Totally covered.
- Make sure every item of every costume is together. FOR SERIOUS.
- Find slutty miniskirt. XD Bringing my lime green heels because it's hilarious how drakonlily reacts.
- Make sure the real clothes I'm bringing are sensible and interchangeable.
- Print off boarding pass after noon, as well as itinerary
- Plucker the fics I'd like to read on my Palm on the plane, as the book I'm reading will likely only take an hour to finish, if that. Also hotsync other e-books.
- Make sure the SD card for Palm is full of awesome music
- Go through packing list, follow to the letter
- Make sure money is all squared away
- DON'T FORGET OTHER PEOPLE'S STUFF: belt for Drak, boots for Sev and Katy, hairstick for Sev, necklace for Jana, and necklace for Katy.
- Figure out how to carry stuff while in costume, possibly borrow/steal carrystuff from mom and put crap on it

I realize you're taking Big Boots, etc, but if you're planning on doing more costumery that requires special packaging, might I suggest investing in a garment bag? Even a travel-worthy one is rarely more than $25.00 and I have so far gotten a lot of use out of my dad's old one (he used to get sent on business trips in uniforms/three piece suits XD ). It is <3 and can be folded in half/thirds and stashed overhead if need be, depending on how bulky the garment is inside.

Going on a plane. Garment baggery is nullified due to new carry-on requirements (I can only take ONE BAG). The rules have changed.

I think we should be good- I'm bringing mine, too, but I'm not a great photographer so mine will probably be all of hot people in costumes and boob shots. xD

I am NOT taking a carry-on save my purse and am taking everything in my suitcase. Which is unfortunately fairly good sized, but since I only have one bag, it can hopefully get shoved in a corner (I would take my smaller one but it is BROKEN and the zipper is ripped and I don't think my pillow would fit in it anyway). So between everything, we can pile stuff in a corner of the room!

Carry-on is direct result of paranoia on my part. Nothing more. XD And I can totally use other people's cameras--it's what I did at Otakon the first time I went, I took more pics with Sev's camera than she did.

I love how we are all totally spazzing out and making lists (I have two post-its here, one is "Jo-Anns" and one is "Makeup + Crap". Which, incidentally, I'm going to a drug store later today, so if you want me to pick up a lipstick for you, I can. I mean, I assume you'd want to pick it out yourself, but I'm totally down with buying the creepiest purple I can find to save us some time if you want. XD
