MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE PAST COUPLE DAYS

I took yesterday and today (and tomorrow!) off of work, because I needed it. Due to this, I have Done Things of Importance.

- I cleaned all the things! No really, I did. I had this incredible amount of energy and just felt like everything needed dusting and cleaning. I washed my bedding. I even rearranged my books on my bookshelf. It was incredible and I feel a lot better now because of it. Strangely enough!

- I went to the BANK like an ADULT.

- I got my Yuletide done on time! And I'm kind of proud of it. Then again, I got a ridiculously fun prompt. I hope my recipient likes it.

- Finished Silent Hill 2! Gonna take a break from it before I decide if I want to play through to get the special other endings or if I'm a weenie or just want to play other freaky games. I am currently borrowing Fatal Frame 2 as a part of my series of Playing Games My Ladyfriend Loves, so that will be my next horror game no matter what happens. Considering that this was my first horror game to have played (it is, hey, I didn't start srsly playing games until high school and then basically took a huge break during college so as to not fail out it's gonna take me some time to catch up).

- Have finally been playing the game Chime I downloaded off of Steam like, a month ago? SO ADDICTIVE AND AWESOME. I like that the music isn't just background, but interacts with the puzzle game, which is just simple enough for me to not be frustrated but not simple enough to be too repetitive. It kind of gives me ideas for talks with the interns and what I've been having them doing. I forsee this being something I play during lunchbreaks or just breaks at work a lot. I also wish there was an iPod/iPhone version, so that my mom could play it, as she would LOVE it.

- Downloaded Fatale which is from one of my favorite indie companies, Tale of Tales. I like them because they really focus on making interactive art and I love the style that they use, as well as their musical and atmospheric considerations. As an extremely easy-going gamer (pretty much the only kind I don't like is First Person Shooter, and I can have exceptions if the mechanics are fucking clever, like Portal) I find their "let's make it pretty and arty and keep the controls/achievements low" approach to be interesting. Though, I seem to be stuck on Fatale so far. Not that frustrating considering that it is in fact a very BEAUTIFUL "game" (they call it an interactive vignette, it's like the bastard lovechild of interactive fiction and FPS without shooting), even if it sort of gives my graphics card palpitations.

- I'm happy my sister is home, because we're tag-teaming Kingdom Hearts. We are both incredibly sad it's not got a two-player mode, because honestly? This is a game I like playing with other people. My sister isn't a greedy gamer either, so she's willing to hand off the controller, and oddly enough her least favorite bits seem to coincide with my favorite ones (I love flying the Gummi Ships, she is frustrated by it. I tend to fight boss battles if she fails at them.). It's like how my family enjoy the LEGO games (which HAVE a two player mode). Lots of common ground, I guess. I tried to do my own playthrough, but it didn't feel the same. Kind of makes me wish there were more two-player option RPGs out there. I know that developing multi-player games is harder, but still.

- Final Fantasy X-2. SO I'm in chapter 2! I've already found one side mission that I think I may skip if I find out that it won't hurt like later awesomeness (yay walkthroughs). I used to think I was a completist gamer, but I'm a finish-ist (not a word I know). I like to BEAT a lot of games, and then later decide if I want to do the bonuses/new game+ whatever. The only thing that I REALLY do want all the things of is the dresspheres, because I am too in love with Battle Mechanic Dressup. It's like this game knows me very very well. And I know it's probably largely unintentional, but there's some awesomely lesbionic fanservice, for which I am happy. I also love that I can put this game down for a while and get right back into it without too much thought. Also, I can't stand Nooj or Gippal. Baralai is mildly creepy, but at least does not make me want to punch him every time I see him. Thankfully Paine more than makes up for the lameness of those X-2 only characters.

- Final Fantasy IV DS I need to bring my DS with me more. iPhone has distracted me from this. Will be doing some travel next month, may be a good opportunity to get some playtime in. Particularly now that I have the internet with me at all times so I can look up things when I get stuck (as much as I love RPGs, if I spend too much time trying to find something, I will not be having fun. so I check walkthroughs just before I get annoyed).

- I'm probably going to be picking up Breath of Fire III as my next Console RPG Timesink, because FFX-2 is so flexible that I don't have to have THE INTENSE FOCUSES for it. And BOF3 a part of the Games My Ladyfriend Loves series, and I don't want to be borrowing it from her until the end of time. XD

I still have some sewing to do, but most of my sewed gifts are being given after Christmas and thus I totally have plenty of time to do them. Then there's a costume to sew. But gifts first.
