Doing and To Do

Today is infinitely better than yesterday. Very quiet around here, as most of the office is off at some in town techie thing. I'm getting several things done that I needed to, though I am annoyed at the lack of communication from one of my clients. Well, we'll see what kind of response my latest email gets.
Almost done with the major overall of all our documentation that goes with AstroEngineer. I just have to add a couple appendices to one of the Educator guides, and then see what pops out of QC. And after some wrangling I got the game accounts all in order for the people evaluating it, and waiting on the CEO to finish up an application for a serious games competition that we're submitting it to. I can't wait until we have a storefront website set up for it so I can just link some of ya'll to go buy it if you want! We're still working out how we want payment and how much to charge. Which is hard considering it's such a small market. XD
Oh god, I just rambled about business. In a small company you end up with a lot of hats; that's why it's such GOOD work experience and why I was more excited to get a job here than say, at Boeing.
In other good news, they're buying me a new grown up phone, which could potentially be an iPhone or an Android-type depending on what bossman decides. The best part of this is that I don't have to pay for the service; we have several accounts under a business deal thing and I'm getting one of them. ^^ This takes a LOAD off me, since I am starting to talk with clients more and my little pay-as-you-go Tracfone is starting to become a nuisance. Downside is that when I go out of town on my little trips work can follow me with emails. XD Ah, well.
I'm dragging my feet getting stuff together for my grad school application; I need to start asking for letters now, give them a couple months to write them up. I hope they don't think it's weird that my recommendations will hopefully come from my direct boss, my history professor, and my academic adviser--notably, no engineering professors. It's not that I don't think I'll get a good letter from some of them, it's just they barely knew me compared to my minor and my awesome adviser and my boss. In engineering I at most had two classes with a prof; in history I had four classes with the same guy. More indicative of what I can do if someone's interacted with me a lot.
Still a bit nervous though about the whole thing.
Oh and I dyed my hair blonde like a while ago. XD I should take a picture sometime, it came out pretty good. I haven't been blonde since I was 17!
Exciting things I'll be doing this weekend:
- Pulling out some cold weather clothes and putting away some hot weather ones! THIS EXCITES ME. I rather like Fall, even if I hate winter. Summer clothes were starting to bore me, especially on the really hot days where a sundress was about all I could handle.
- Finishing an apron for my ladyfriend and starting on another sewing project.
- Playing FFX-2, because omg this game is so cute and fun. I don't care. I love that DRESSUP IS PART OF THE BATTLE SYSTEM.
- Reading some more of Young Miles. I think I am definitely into this series now. Miles is actually pretty awesome and I was worried he wouldn't be since his parents are two of my favorite characters ever. I will probably have thoughts to share at some point.
- Looking around for another tarot deck. Any recommendations?
Exciting things from this week:
- The ladyfriend and I have submitted a story to
bb_shousetsu ("Foreign Exchange") and it made the current issue. It's original slash with sexytimes, so if that's not your cuppa, I wouldn't suggest looking at the issue. XD
- Genderbend of the evil exes from Scott Pilgrim. I haven't read the comics or seen the movie, but I approve of good genderbend.
- Fictional geekspiration for girls; who's yours? Reminds me I need to nerdsplode over how much I love Claudia from Warehouse 13. She looks like how I WISHED I looked in high school, and she's got a fun personality too.
- What the fuck should I make for dinner? The question answered, with recipes.
- This comic makes me want to call my Sidekick badly. He's so into EVE Online, it's cute.
