Home Stretch
Jul. 13th, 2009 09:17 amSo I started this entry like on Saturday, promptly forgot about it, and then realized that it was no longer relevant and started over. So here's to progress:
- My coat is basically done, except for buttons, and how I'm going to keep the collar closed. I have an idea. Shouldn't be a problem. Not wearing it today, since I haven't put on the way to keep it closed. XD It came out really well, especially considering I had to sew in some pipe cleaners to get the collar to stand up. It's got a nice kind of rumple in the front that actually looks good, and it goes high enough. What I'm most proud of is the navy blue trim on the bottom of it--really helps make it look classy. My mom found a really need 80s-tastic belt in her never ending closet of stuff that's actually got a pretty good steampunk vibe to it, I've had to cut it down a little because the elastic stretched. Debating embellishment for it.
And I know, I know, pictures, but I haven't really had time. XD I'm also kind of thinking like making it a surprise for when Drak and I do a photoshoot on Wednesday. Am debating whether to wear plain black baggy pants with the costume or black pinstripe pants. Thoughts?
- I've got
tijuana_pirate's Gogo toga-cape-thing hemmed and started putting on the yellow bits. Shouldn't take long to stick the triangles on, since I've done that before with the white mage cape. My mom and I are doing the headdress tonight! I was just kind of bleh yesterday and didn't move much, so I mostly did little detail things I'd been meaning to do. Also...
- Some of you are getting presents! ~_^ Since you know, I can't just make costumes, I have to make other stuff too. I have no plans on sleeping at all this week, clearly.
- Uh... I'm spacing out. XD Work is going to be INTERESTING today.
