Wednesdays can be good

- Anytime that I get the slightest desire to go all cynic, people go and and surprise me by being wonderful. Today after class I went out to the bus stop and flagged down a bus only to realize that it was "Out of Service". As I put my arm down, dejected and prepared to be very cold waiting for the next set of busses to come by, the driver asked me where I wanted to be dropped off. I told him, and he told me to get on. He did this for several other people. Since it's been snowing like crazy and VERY cold on top of it, I found this to be a particularly benevolent act.

- There was a moment this morning between Prof Collicock and myself, as he was handing out homeworks. So hiding in the back didn't entirely work. At least I played it cool; bastard might have failed me once, but he's not getting the chance again!

- Prof Dragster (as I am calling my awesome happy Mech E professor, because he apparently used to drag race) was quite fun today. I will get over my shyness of being the one kid not in that major in the class and probably start answering stuff as we're going to be talking about some aerodynamics stuff soon (but not the lame kind). I'm very happy to see that I can follow along pretty well, and that the only difference is I have to get used to them referring to cams and stuff instead of magical theoretical jet engines and propulsive forces. Hopefully he doesn't think I'm a weirdo, I have a hard time not smiling in that class, because he's such a fun guy.

- Ohayocon is coming up SO SOON. I have all my travel arrangements taken care of, at least (though I should track you down some solid directions, Katy, and make sure that my Sidekick is around when you pick me up so he can give you directions should you take a wrong turn because I never DRIVE around here). And it's a three day weekend this weekend for me! Thanks University, for observing Martin Luther King Day. Should give me time to sew on those buttons and make that possible hack on my steampunk outfit, as well as browsing the local thrift store for another jacket for gunner!Aeris, as well as finding some old belts for steam!Auron. I'll be checking out a camera from the library if I can, possibly show some progress if I make it. Else you'll have to wait until after Ohayocon and all the drunk photos that ensue. XD

All and all, I think I have a rhythm again, have all the books I need (only had to buy one and a spiral bound copy of notes... not bad!), and various other things I'd lost/needed restocking on. Now all I need to do is add just a LITTLE more color to my room to counteract winter and I'm set.

Notes: Ha ha... yeah, that "Must Be Dreaming" AU from Iffy's POV is still alive, I'm just lazy. Had this half done for a while. Kind of a weird snippet in time, going to have more fun when Aeris is grown up, let me tell you. I'm worse than mainstream comics, but hell, FFVII is like a big clusterfuck anyway.

I've Got Instincts of My Own

Summary: Quistis is a General of the Empire now, even if her reasons are less than martial.

Notes: Well, I managed to eek out another one-shot in the Empire arc, and it's been... god a long time. I really like Quistis most when she's big sisterly, so that probably colored this a lot, as well as attempted to advance the general "plot" which really works backwards, if you think about it. Since, ah, the last time I worked on any of these stories was freaking 2007, I'll link to the other ones in the arc, since this was references both of them: Perfect Color Me, and Choke Until I Swallow. I'll prolly do another Quistis POV one because this one was shorter, plus it's fun?
