Alright, I'm quite fond of my minions.

There's something funny about the coincidences that life throws at you. See, most of college I hung with two guys: Matt and Justin. Matt's since got a job and I'm bad about keeping up, and Justin is the other dude graduate five billion years later than everyone else. It took Matt about the same amount of time to graduate, but he was already a year older than us. Funny thing is, my minions are another M&J combo, and creepily enough, the Matt is also laid back and quiet and interjects hilarious things in a sort of sardonic manner. The J is not so much like Justin, except for maybe a similar sense of humor. But it's funny how that happens. I seem to fall into a two guys and a girl grouping a lot. XD

But anyway, my minions are basically awesome.

J is ex-Army, has a more RPG background, and generally agrees with me as far as FFs go. Hell, he's played FFs beyond FF7, which is a rarity amongst dudes I run into. He is also a bit devilish and trying to talk me into borrowing his DS or one of his systems so that I break my whole "not playing games except for directly related to work until I graduate" thing. Because I could just picture how my summer would get eaten up, considering my way of playing games is soul-consuming omgjusttwomorehours. I mean, my first realish job was a summer gig, and when I wasn't working I was playing games. Which was good then as I was in a state all by myself. But still. The DS is very freaking tempting. But I promised myself I'd read books. Cool thing about J is he can draw, so he's the dude at the whiteboard a lot of the time doodling nifty robots for our consideration.

M is thoughtful and organized and thankfully not of the type that the "girl should do the typing". I mean, I like jotting down notes, but they are certainly not of a format for human consumption. He helped the most with my nervousness, considering he's a level builder (FOR A STAR TREK GAME WE GOT TO GEEK ABOUT THAT) and generally laid-back. He does most of the writing on the whiteboard, as we work through big picture ideas. He also might be programming some stuff *CROSSES FINGERS* as it's becoming increasingly clear that partner company is overcharging us (and their rover sucks). He tends to ground J's wild flights of fancy and my sometimes boringness (because hey, someone has to remember the educational bits... I mean, sure I love the fun stuff, but I've got a responsibility and all).

They are both conspiring to get me to play WoW. XD I fear what would happen to me should I get on that. Maybe when things are less tenuous as they are now. They are also trying to talk me into wearing my steampunk!Edea costume to work when it's finished. XD Tomorrow I'll have to turn down going out to lunch with them, as I really shouldn't be eating out all the time.

On a stranger note, I saw the older brother of a friend of mine from high school as a manager at the McDonald's I went to today. He's been working that job... since I was in high school. Is it wrong to feel awkward seeing people like that? Not that it's a bad job or anything... but even while I'm in town I feel like I'm in this separate world (and in some respects I am) than when I lived here when I was younger. Like, one of my big things when I was in high school was getting the hell out of here, which I did, I've been to some strange and interesting places and met some strange and interesting people. And while I'm here for a job, it feels less like... like I was forced to be here. Even living in my parents' basement feels less like a failure and more like an in-between step to full autonomy. I don't know. Just strange thoughts.

P.S. This is wicked, wicked fun.

Heh, WoW! It doesn't have to be soul-sucking. It just depends on what you want to do. If you want to be really competitive in either player vs. player, or in doing raids (dungeons for 10-15 people) then you have to play quite often, but just to check out the game and get started there's no necessity to invest a lot of time in it if you don't mind things progressing slowly. Then again, I am currently playing far too much myself, so . . .

I know. I just know I have a somewhat obsessive personality. It's just something I'd rather not tempt. Besides, I'm giving this summer the chance to help my parents clean out a lot of stuff.

Speaking of stuff note one of my giveaways of books (http://venefica-aura.livejournal.com/215291.html). ^^

Yeah. I don't even consider myself too easily addicted and I believe I am. By the way, you *should* feel proud of your job and be happy. It sounds like a lot of fun.

Have you ever watched House? Because I definitely have this rather House-like image of you and your minions brainstorming with a white board. And it makes me giggle a little.

Oh noes, if you re-add gaming to you hobby list they’ll be no time for writing. ^_~

I’ve only played a bit of WoW, I didn’t find it too addicting then it wasn’t my type of game so I suppose I would find it addicting. Doing what you think is best is probably your best option. Though, you weren’t planning on wearing Steampunk Edea to work.

Part of me wants to say that might be a good thing. Then I remember that I like writing, even if it's hardly earth-shattering or amazing.

And I don't think I'd get addicted to WoW, but I just don't want to take the chance. I'm an obsessive personality, a bit of a completist. So who knows.

I’m not sure if I should feel insulted about my taste or not. ;p

If you actually wanted to do wowing earth-shattering writing I don’t see why you couldn’t, the work required would probably cut into your work which I’m not sure you’d like the sacrifice since your work sounds important to you.

Oh, I didn't mean to insult you. XD More being sarcastic about my own abilities.

Maybe some day I'll have time enough.

I was mostly just teasing. It has always been a curiousity of mine about how author's who reflect poorly on their writing consider there reads.

Hrm. Well, I guess I consider my readers rather forgiving; I don't think I'm terrible, just not polished? I also know that I'm not a... I don't write for the masses, I write to express oddities. I expect a lot of suspension of disbelief from my readers, so forgiving's a good word. I rather appreciate that, too. ^^
