I'll tell you right now, that sometimes I dislike anonymous rant or secret communities. It's... so negative. Sometimes hilarious and I won't hide the fact I read [info]fandomsecrets from time to time, but usually its for the cute secrets, you know, the almost uplifting ones.
I totally agree. Kingdom Hearts Fanfic Rants is half the reason I had to just totally leave the Kingdom Hearts fandom. Those guys are obnoxious. I just don't see how it's fun to complain about everything. Really the only reason I read fandomsecrets at all is for the happy secrets. The great laughs I get from that community almost always outweigh the ranting that makes me angry.
As far as friends locked journals go, I pretty much agree. If you're just trying to pick a fight, it probably shouldn't be on the internet. ...But sometimes circumstances exist where you just really don't want a particular person reading/commenting on your journal. Just for the sake of maintaining all possible civility in real life. Which, unfortunately, is the situation I'm dealing with with one of my "friends" who seems to be unable to realize that she's crossed too many lines. I can deal with her in real life, but on the internet it's too much.
