Busy

I had meetings all day yesterday, and today has been full of Work Things. Which is good! But it also means I'm brief here. Have a couple good discussions with people going on in other journals (controlling relationships and literary snobbishness, if you're curious). But I do have pictures!

+ And some of the lovely landscaping we've been doing around the house. Everything from the door picture to the lilies is new, picture-wise.

I'm also plugging away at my next Making Friends story (this is a pun, considering the one girl literally made Percival). I might actually have it done by the deadline! Depends on how my work schedule goes.

The key necklace is very cool. I've always liked old skeleton keys and I absconded with a few from the abandoned over 100 yr old house that just sits next to my parents' home.

I'm quite fond of them too. I had to buy the one for that, but it was in a set of four (http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=9127199) and quite awesome. I'm going to do something with the smallest one and mail it to a friend, since she sent me something from Japan. And a book. XD

Dress is coming along fabulously, even if I made a mistake sewing on the bias trim for the waist cincher (http://www.flickr.com/photos/21731007@N05/2590768227). But I'll work on it this weekend, as the person who's coming to see me is curious to see me work.

I like learning new things, basically. Sewing/crafting and all that is basically an engineering problem to me. Bonding with my sewing machine (http://www.flickr.com/photos/21731007@N05/2578490457/) was interesting.

Well, Seifer and his whole firecross thing just made me think of that. And there are no shortage of slightly tacky cross jewelry bits in my house (the problem of being raised Catholic and having a lot of relatives).

Maybe it's a little sacrilege, but it looks pretty.
