I think so many people disliked it BECAUSE it was screwing over the tropes.

Yes, Fields was quite hot. Nicely done, James. Also, nicely done NOT sleeping with Camille. Bond could use more chicks in his life that he's not banging (like M! OMG THE "Your mother?" "She likes to think she is." BIT OMG!)

But I mostly want to know how she handles it all after. As much as I loved Vesper (because I did quite a bit), I knew she would self-implode eventually, I think Camille would be interesting in the aftermath.

And the people I went to see it with were all, "well, that was different for a Bond movie" but they didn't seem to dislike it, just liked the previous one better. Like the feeling you get from the middle movie in a trilogy (which this is, in a way).
