crankyoldmanToday was windy and busy with work stuffs. Windy was good, because it was WARM, but work stuffs was mildly frustrating. Hopefully it'll be well on Monday. I'm nervous. Have a meme instead!
End of the Year
01. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Did a project in the Aero Lab out at the airport,
02. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Actually, I did keep mine, pretty darn well.
03. Did someone close to you give birth?
Yup, babies are happening ALL OVER the place.
04. Did anyone close to you die?
No, thankfully.
05. What countries did you visit?
A world traveler, I am not.
06. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
A diploma.
07. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Sadly, the week I got sick and got myself behind in classes. D:
08. What was your biggest achievement(s) of the year?
I didn't fail ALL my classes, managed to keep organized, learned to sew, finished up Phase I of my project at work and got some excellent responses from kids, learned to stop worrying and love the bomb
09. What was/is your biggest failure(s)?
Not stabbing my Aerodynamics professor in the eye, not meeting all my classes I wanted to pass goals.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing seriously serious, just enough to knock me on my butt for a few days.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Plane ticket to Baltimore, my Victorian dress.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

Numerous.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Otakon, school, rent.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Cosplay, Halloweek, working over the summer.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you
i. happier or sadder? Actually? About the same. I had a good December last year, and this one hasn't been wholly tragic.
ii. thinner or fatter? Fatter, thankfully. I know, I know.
iii. richer or poorer? Poorer. I wasn't in school last fall. XD
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Studied. Actually, I wish I'd gotten out with the Senior Design team that I was a groupie for. I'm always a groupie for other people's design teams, I've realized.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Thermodynamics and Aerodynamics homework. XD
20. How did you spend Christmas?
With the family, at home, without having to see extended family. It was kind of wonderful.
22. Did you fall in love in 2008?
I was already in love. XD
23. How many one-night stands?
None. I'm not into that.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Not counting ones I had love prior to 2008: Burn Notice, and Arrested Development. Both of which I watched for the first time this year.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Ha ha, no. I hated them long before this year.
26. What was the best book you read?
Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, hands down.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
FINDING DAVID BOWIE'S "LOW" ALBUM FINALLY. OMG.
28. What did you want and get?
A rice cooker!
29. What did you want and not get?
A passing grade in Aerodynamics and Thermodynamics. D:
30. Favorite film of this year?
Pathology. Ha, ha. It was so horrifically fun.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I took a final! Goddamn May birthday. 23.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Being graduated! Ok, that would have been silly. I think having a stove in my room.

"Fake Brit Meets Starship Captain's Mother"
34. What kept you sane?
Friday Night Quiet Dinners. Honestly, just going out somewhere alone with a book brought me IMMEASURABLE peace and joy.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Scarlet Johansson. And Eva Mendez. Them being in The Spirit together is sort of giving me a nosebleed.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
How idiotic people get around voting time?
37. Who do you miss?
RMR, Jac&Betty, the Beatniks, and everyone else from my class in college. It's hard getting back into the groove after a break like that.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Jean Genie, and the Otacock Crew that I didn't know already.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:
The key to being fabulous is throw yourself wholly into something and not worry about approval. If you stop and look back to see if anyone is watching, then you're not likely to do as well.
