Some days, I wonder which deity I pissed off. I'm sorry I didn't go through Confirmation, God, but my teachers sucked ass and I don't join up with any institutions without my facts straight.
So today was two exams day. And I was prepared. I'd been studying for the past couple days, and today I wrote up the equation sheets--easy peasy. No panicking.
Well, so I leave my dorm to go to my first exam, I cross the street on my bike... and narrowly miss getting hit by a car. Yeah. By narrowly, I mean turning so fast out of the way that I lost traction in my bike and skidded into the sidewalk. Miraculously, I didn't get a scrape. But it shook me up something awful, and the car that almost hit me didn't even stop (they were running a red light anyway... and I totally didn't see them. I've been a street biker for a long time now, I know the rules). So I get to my exam about 15 minutes late, a little winded. But Prof Dragster was kind enough to let me take the exam for the entire time that everyone else got, and let me sit and catch my breath and calm down a bit. I still didn't do as well as I probably could have, but the exams are worth less than the simulations in that class, so I'm not going to worry over it.
So I go to the aero building to finish up my equation sheet for my next exam, run into some dudes from class and basically chill. I feel pretty confident, I finally work out a couple things that I just wasn't getting and feel ready to tackle some problems.
It turns out to be about 80% weird theory, with things like "explain" in the problem statement. I do as best as I can, but jesus, that was ass. And it seems like that was the majority reaction, but still. I was a little twerked.
Fine now, but some days... my patience is really tried. At least I have no class tomorrow, even if my plan is to see Prof Dragster about some Simulation questions.

Date: 2009-03-26 03:50 pm (UTC)Heck, I've been meaning to make a trip to Chicago to visit a graduated college friend and possibly crash the class a friend from high school teaches (I'm in ur schools, scaring ur young English teachers). Depends. I have lots of people I mean to visit and transportation solutions are always... creative.

Date: 2009-03-26 02:11 pm (UTC)Also, everyone always feels horrible after an exam. I'm sure you didn't better on aero than you think. And, even if you didn't, I'm sure that no one else felt confidant after an exam like that either.
Chilling with other students is good. When I used to take them, i used to either sleep for 2 or 3 hours after an exam or start studying for my next one! Not very good. :p
Take care!
