Some days, I wonder which deity I pissed off. I'm sorry I didn't go through Confirmation, God, but my teachers sucked ass and I don't join up with any institutions without my facts straight.

So today was two exams day. And I was prepared. I'd been studying for the past couple days, and today I wrote up the equation sheets--easy peasy. No panicking.

Well, so I leave my dorm to go to my first exam, I cross the street on my bike... and narrowly miss getting hit by a car. Yeah. By narrowly, I mean turning so fast out of the way that I lost traction in my bike and skidded into the sidewalk. Miraculously, I didn't get a scrape. But it shook me up something awful, and the car that almost hit me didn't even stop (they were running a red light anyway... and I totally didn't see them. I've been a street biker for a long time now, I know the rules). So I get to my exam about 15 minutes late, a little winded. But Prof Dragster was kind enough to let me take the exam for the entire time that everyone else got, and let me sit and catch my breath and calm down a bit. I still didn't do as well as I probably could have, but the exams are worth less than the simulations in that class, so I'm not going to worry over it.

So I go to the aero building to finish up my equation sheet for my next exam, run into some dudes from class and basically chill. I feel pretty confident, I finally work out a couple things that I just wasn't getting and feel ready to tackle some problems.

It turns out to be about 80% weird theory, with things like "explain" in the problem statement. I do as best as I can, but jesus, that was ass. And it seems like that was the majority reaction, but still. I was a little twerked.

Fine now, but some days... my patience is really tried. At least I have no class tomorrow, even if my plan is to see Prof Dragster about some Simulation questions.

Trains? Or, if I recall, you don't live all that far. I can come pick you up!

Well, I know this and next weekend are out, and I'm not sure how well the rest of this semester will be for scheduling, but I may take you up on that sometime. A good Russian never turns down an offer of booze. Thanks for the offer.

Hrm. I've never taken the train out of here, only the Greyhound. I'm kind curious to try that one of these days. XD

It is possible, with a little bit of transfer-finnagling, to get within 4 blocks of my place between Metra and the CTA. :)

Currently there is something like a plan for having [livejournal.com profile] first_seventhe come visit for a weekend in June for our every-several-months drinking, gaming, fanficcing, etc. celebration. You'd be quite welcome to join us if you wished :)

XD I won't be living here in June, I'll be back in B-town, which is significantly more south. But I still have a semester (at least) left of school here, so maybe sometime in the fall. ^^

Heck, I've been meaning to make a trip to Chicago to visit a graduated college friend and possibly crash the class a friend from high school teaches (I'm in ur schools, scaring ur young English teachers). Depends. I have lots of people I mean to visit and transportation solutions are always... creative.

Sounds good! We usually try to do such weekends two or three times a year if we can, so that'd be awesome. :D

Semi-related: Do you plan to come to ACen?

The only cons I plan for are Ohayocon and Otakon, while I'm still in school. XD After graduation I may add another con to the list. I'm more inclined to try for Gen Con this summer, cause it's only an hour from where I'll be living and borrowing a car for that is A+. Depends on if the friend I've been trying to talk into going to cons goes or not, though.

I'll probably try to swing by GenCon at least on the weekend, probably with the boy, to meet some friends who I know will be there :) I go to ACen because it's 20 minutes from my apartment and a lot of my LJ friends go XD

It was a 40 minute drive from where I used to live, but it lets me save on hotels (I just pay for parking) and food, since I can eat at home and grab a lunch-like thing. Pretty sweet deal. XD Then I moved to a different town in the same area and am EVEN CLOSER. Which is awesome!

Oh I totally had one. Cranberry Lambic. Not my favorite but it was in the fridge.

And my dad did just buy me a bunch of beer... god bless Catholic parents. XD

The week will end eventually.

*pets* I'm glad that you weren't hurt. That stupid driver!

Also, everyone always feels horrible after an exam. I'm sure you didn't better on aero than you think. And, even if you didn't, I'm sure that no one else felt confidant after an exam like that either.

Chilling with other students is good. When I used to take them, i used to either sleep for 2 or 3 hours after an exam or start studying for my next one! Not very good. :p

Take care!

And I bet you did do better than you thought, especially if everyone thought they did rubbish. <3 D:
