Stopping to Breathe

crankyoldmanI've been rather productive as of late, at work and at home. So this is just a "yay I did stuff" sort of post.
Costuming
- I made the Auron kimono-coat-thing. Took me an afternoon mostly because I had to iron the fabric as I'd forgotten it in the dryer after washing it. All it needs is some trim to finish it up! All hemmed, unlined, probably will leave it unlined for now, depending on how it looks when I put it on and take a few pictures.
- I sewed my first zipper! I totally didn't follow the directions exactly or was able to find the right foot for sewing it, but it came out fine. I think this is because my first experience sewing on a machine was sewing bias tape (ON A CURVE) and after that, everything seems easy. XD I wasn't trying for an invisible zip (since it's in the back of a dress and I'll be wearing a coat over it), so I think it worked out. Now I need to cut out the lining (mostly to make sure the dress isn't see-through) and sew the front and back and lining together. And hope it fits right. XD
- I now have the pyramid studs for the Paine costume, not sure if I have enough and may need to order more. She has a fucking lot of studs on that weird shawl thing of hers. Will need to use Effy to sew the pleather, I think, not sure if Sandy has the oomph necessary. Need to cut out the underlayer so I can start putting in the studs during lunch or while watching Netflix. XD

Made a bunch of hairsticks forwanderriha, one pair of which I know won't be going to her, the rest are pending approval. Click to embiggen.

ff_exchange piece, and waiting on word from someone I'm betaing for. Trying to get this done by Friday because I have an awesome campout party at the lake to go to this weekend. XD
