Alright, I could practically cry now
Feb. 2nd, 2008 12:37 pmIN THE GOOD WAY.
I just got the feedback from the kids for my game at work.
Oh my freaking god. They loved it! They liked the graphics, they LOVED my overhaul of the classic "lost astronaut problem", they wanted TO KNOW MORE about my Big Crazy Problem Of Doom, and they had HELPFUL IDEAS FOR THINGS I CAN WORK ON NEXT AND OMGOMGOMGOMG.
There is no logical thought! ONLY PURE JOY.
GODDAMMIT WHY COULDN'T SCHOOL START IN MARCH!? I REALLY WANTED TO BE THERE FOR TESTING! WELL I WILL BE THERE FOR THE NEXT PHASE!
I've literally been having nightmares concerning this game ALL MONTH, since the first week of school I had sketchy internet and then I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone and then the insanity and omgomgomg it turned out SO WELL and I KNEW explaining everything to Andrew would mean he would be able to make snap decisions like COMBINING TWO PROBLEMS and...
I don't think it's a breach of contract for me to share one of my favorite comments they left:
"With this game, you have to really figure out what the problem is. It’s cool, but it’s not just guessing. It’s not randomly shooting because you have to figure out the best place to put [the sensors] to get the best data."
This may not mean anything to 98% of you, but that's exactly what I've been working on since May. THEY GET IT. Oh my god, they get it! They see that it's learning, but they still think it's fun.
Alright, screw high paying engineering jobs, I'm sticking with this stuff. I have never been so excited about anything in my life! I AM GOING TO BE POOR BUT I DON'T CARE!

P.S. I can't wait to get to propulsion in my classes, because it gives me five billion more game ideas.
