Back from a break
Nov. 29th, 2010 01:06 pmSome of you may have noticed (though I expect most of you were busy with the holiday), I was a bit absent for the past few days. I decided to take off work for most of last week (Weds-Fri), and on top of that Saturday was spent with the family doing shenanigans. So here's a breakdown of Stuffs Done:
- Finished watching Avatar: The Last Airbender. I love Sokka, Iroh, Katara, Toph, Aang, and Azula. Oh my god do I love Azula. Ladyfriend and I are already talking about writing epic Azula-centric (and Toph!) post-series fic, because her state at the end of the series made me so incredibly sad I cannot even describe it.Also, I ship Katara with both Aang AND Zuko, as well as Zuko/Mai, so I don't want to even get into that fandom fight. SERIOUSLY.
- Saw Tangled because one of my good friends from college worked on it (she's a 3D lighting animator at MY age, her next goal is to be a technical director, she's amazing) and she made me promise to see it in theaters (I even went so far as to see it in 3D). It turned out to be actually REALLY good, and kind of pulled an FFX in some ways (the guy was really a framing device for the girl's story... which I like a lot). Rapunzel is almost up there with Belle and Mulan for me, which is saying something.
- My sister started playing Kingdom Hearts because I have it on loan now. She got as far as Monstro and made me fly the gummi ship, because she's not so good at flying. XD I suspect this will be a large part of our winter holiday times.
- I didn't make 50k for nano, and unless I write 25k in a single night it's not going to happen. Oh well. I have a story that I like which I'll keep working on, but in between a hellish week and me just being a slug during my vacation (I needed it... I was feeling really burned out on like EVERYTHING)
And lastly, I went to another Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert. And I took a couple videos for y'all. We had the perfect seats; no one was blocking our view and we weren't being totally blasted by the speakers.
