Stayed home today, am technically working and packing at the same time. Since my sister is home we did the usual clothes exchange, since we don't live together we can't STEAL each other's clothes anymore, we just trade now. I have a smaller chest than she does, but I'm longer in the torso, so we can generally fit in each other's things now. XD It's all good.

Found some pictures from Otakon of us. (about 3/4ths of the way through, [personal profile] darcenciel's Tifa is in there too!) Near the awesome fountain. Gorgeous day, I'm glad Saturday was so nice, considering that I was wearing so much black. Can't imagine what it would have been like if it'd been like normal August weather. Katy looks so pretteh!

Missy has also agreed to cosplay Megumi from RahXephon, to go with my Haruka. Hopefully she can go to Otakon! XD At the very least, this is a job for Halloween or random fun times.

1. One movie that made you laugh: Rush Hour 2. I love Jackie Chan. He's adorable. And I love Chris Tucker's mangled attempts at Chinese and his scene with the chicken lady. This movie was out when I was first working at my movie theater, and I'd go sit in the back on break and just laugh myself to tears. I especially loved cleaning up after it, as the outtakes were probably as funny as the movie ("Jackie ALWAYS OK!"). And I'm not even into most comedies (my humor's a little mangled, I'll admit).

2. One movie that made you cry: Lost in Translation, actually. I'm a real softie for those sorts of characters--there's something about people that are kind of lost in the world that gets me more than typical tear-jerkers.

3. One movie you loved when you were a child: Shipwrecked. My parents pirated it off the Disney channel and I used to watch it every time I got sick (which was a lot when I was a kid). No one's prolly heard of it--I basically wanted to be the kid growing up (his best friend was awesome, and his girlfriend was cute, seriously. plus there was inventive bamboo technology).

4. One movie you’ve seen more than once: Oh geez, quite a few. I'm a massive movie re-watcher. Um, I've watched Spy Game prolly more than I should have. Robert Redford just kind of owned my soul in that movie.

5. One movie you loved, but were embarrassed to admit it: The Princess Diaries (the first one). Mostly because I have a terrible crush on Anne Hathaway and the older characters were cute (Joe! YOU ARE SO COOL). Plus, I sympathize with having a crazy hippie artist mom.

6. One movie you didn't like: Kill Bill. Really, I didn't get the big deal. Plus, Uma Thurman looks like an alien and sort of freaks me out a little. Actually, pretty much anything Quentin Tarantino (which I went and watched several, just to make sure it's not just Kill Bill that sucked). It's like watching a fanboy film. And I'm no slouch when it comes to violence--some of the things I like are VERY violent. I suppose it just felt so unnecessary?

7. One movie that scared you: Batman Returns. I fucking kid you not. I was eight, I saw it, and The Penguin STILL freaks me out. And the scene with the cats and... yeah. So freaked out.

8. One movie that bored you: Pearl Harbor. And I pretty much watch anything related to WWII. It's Ben Affleck. He's only useful if Matt Damon is around. It was just so loooong.

9. One movie that made you happy: October Sky is basically my "life sucks, I need to watch something uplifting" movie. Even if I know deep down that kind of thing really doesn't happen much more these days, there's just something about early Space Age stuff that always puts me in a good mood.

10. One movie that made you miserable: One Hour Photo. Never ever ever EVER take the reccomendation of your theater employee friend that is a depressed ex-English major. They're warped. Beyond repair. Worst thing was I went with a DATE to see that. Oh god. That was awkward.

11. One movie you weren’t brave enough to see: The Ring. I'm such a weenie. I have enough of an imagination as it is, I don't need more images.

12. One movie character you’ve fallen in love with: Pretty much anything Jodie Foster plays. No, I'm not kidding. Top three roles of hers: Ellie Arroway in Contact (I sort of want to be that when I grow up as much as I also FEAR growing up into that), Clarice Starling in The Silence of the Lambs (CLARICE FUCKING STARLING. COME ON.) and Annabelle Bransford in Maverick (she was funny! I like funny Westerns!). So I guess by "fallen in love" I mean, "identify with strongly". It's the combination of toughness and vulnerability that she does, I think. She was also fabulous in The Brave One.

13. The last movie you saw: Theaters? The Dark Knight (with my dad, because my mom figured it would be too dark. ha.) During my insane movie finding on the internet searches? Saved! which kind of feels a little like Dogma, only for fundies (and with a broader audience in mind). Surprisingly funny and cute movie, with satire in all the right places without going into the bitter and unfunny territory. Plus, I think I kind of love Mandy Moore as an antagonist. No, really. She's fun to watch when she's evil.

14. The next movie you hope to see: I'm actually a little curious about Vickie Cristina Barcelona. It'll probably be an awful perv-fest, but I'm still curious. XD

The Princess Dairies was quite cute, the second one not so much.

While I haven't been able to wear my little sisters clothing in several years, themed costuming with them has been fun.

Did you like the Dark Knight, because I don't remember if you commented on it or not and no one I know has seen it yet.

I liked Dark Knight, but it was pretty different from Begins. Everyone reacts differently from it (lots of people I would expect to like it rather hated it, while I kind of expected to not like it, as I don't really like the darker Batman movies, but I found it rather compelling). I have to admit, my favorite bit of the movie was anytime Gordon or Harvey Dent was on screen, but that's to be expected from me. XD
