Agreed. With both you and Jana here. I've always hated TV news, and I've always been completely ignorant/apathetic of what's going on in the world. But I think I'm going to start paying more attention now. Gotta find some reliable sources for news though. Definitely still staying away from TV.
I actually just did a (not entirely too intense) paper on "real" news vs. "fake" news (like The Daily Show), and it was actually kind of an eye opener, because I realized that the "fake" news is often a commentary on how poorly the "real" news informs us...
