Costume Progress!

crankyoldmanI'm waiting until the vest for stealth!Hojo is done before showing that. And the femme!Auron stuff I'm waiting until I do a little more finishing work. Plus I was too lazy to put the kimono on to take a picture, as it doesn't look like much of anything if it's not on.
So here's two of the costumes I'm working on.
This is kind of what the Daryl costume looks like right now. Dress part is mostly assembled, not doing the lining until I take it in a bit (following the pattern means it's... a little wide. no idea man, no idea). But see IT HAS A ZIPPER. The coat is just pattern pieces that are half pinned to the fabric, but the cuffs and collar parts have been fully cut out, as they are being done in a very lush patterned fabric (because Daryl likes the finer things). Coat really shouldn't take too long after I fully cut out the fabric, as coats are kind of wonderfully simple things, particularly this pattern (unlike my first coat, which was actually kind of complicated).
Closer look at the fabrics. The green dress is being done in a sort of batik print, and you can see just how fancy the patterned fabric for the cuffs and sleeves is (was a remnant, love remnants). Went with these sorts of fabrics because despite the character being a sprite, I'm taking a little Amano inspiration, and we all know how much he loves his patterns.
And the Paine shawl thing. I only need to sew the two parts together, the studding was only delayed by the need for another batch of studs. I kind of like pyramid studs now, they are easy to put in and secure. Need to go look out for the small bits and pieces that'll make the outfit now, it is very simple compared to my other things, which is nice. XD And I'm getting better at sewing close to the edge of things I mean, LOOK AT THOSE STITCHES.
