As in, the book by Lois McMaster Bujold.
SO that was awesome.
I finished it on Monday, I think. I don't remember my days are blurring together a bit. Some of you were present on twitter when I flipped out over stuff. So lemme break it down:
- Illyan/Aunt Alys = YES. I think one of my favorite parts was Miles realizing that yeah, THEY ARE TOTALLY DOING IT. Followed closely by Ivan flipping out at Miles when he's figured it out. FRUIT ON STICKS INDEED. Please tell me there is fanfic about them, I have like, ideas in my head on how this came to be. If not, I think I may have to write it. Because yeah.
- POOR GALENI. I'm rather fond of him, and I have to say, him venting at Miles was kind of wonderful. Good thing he's marrying a Koudelka, I think things will end up fine.
- SMOOTH MOVES GREGOR. USING YOUR WEALTH AND PRIVILEGE TO GET THE HOT DOCTOR, WELL PLAYED. There was a lot of adorbs coupling in this book. I don't think I've enjoyed quite so many hetero relationships in a fictional verse in a long time. Usually there is some groaning.
- Though, wow, Barrayans have some of the quickest courtships. Third date LET'S GET MARRIED.
- Ha ha Ivan. I love you, but you totally deserved that rejection. Two-fold. Can't hate the player, though.
- I really enjoyed the Miles character development in here. The Naismith/Vorkosigan struggle was quite a ride to watch.
- KITTIES.
- BEST. JOB. EVER. WHY CAN'T I BE AN AUDITOR?
In conclusion, BEST TIMES.
