+ Alright, I don't know what it is about today, but I got up with my alarm, instead of walking over to it like a zombie and shutting it off and then zombie-ing back into bed (yes, how sad is it that my alarm is on the OTHER SIDE OF THE ROOM and yet I can fall back asleep?). So I ate breakfast. And brushed my teeth. And had everything ready. WTF?

+ It's 11 and I have the Major Work Objectives for today done. What? At least I'll be ready for the meeting today.

+ My sister's birthday is today, but we celebrated it yesterday. She liked the earrings I made her. They were pirate-y. Arrr.

+ Final is on Thursday. I know, many of you have several, but one is enough to make me freak out a little. I've got a study schedule and everything.

+ When real life and the internet intersect:

Andrew: So, basically we have to take screenshots of the interface with the graphs so they can use it as a texture in Unreal.
Me: The graphs are pastede on yay?
Andrew: *cracks up*
Me: I've clearly been on the internet too long.

Alright. So. I really liked it. And am glad that when Sci-Fi does something, they repeat it in marathons. See, I'm too impatient to wait on individual episodes, or even parts of a mini-series. It even managed a cheesy happily ever ending and I STILL liked it.

Then again, it had a morally ambiguos family man with a sordid past (and a "boyscout syndrome" AS SAID IN THE SHOW). Yes, I'm looking at YOU Cain (Tin Man). So even if everything else

I admit, I love reimaginings probably more than I should. If it's good, it's similar to reading really good fanfiction, you know? Especially when it involves fairytales (The Wizard of Oz is an American fairytale, it is).

DG (Dorothy) was awesome. Running in brandishing a stick most of the time, but not without its consequences... I haven't seen the "headstrong princess" in a role that didn't make me want to gouge my eyes out in a while. She wasn't all heart, and she wasn't all mind. I think maybe I just like ordinary people with extraordinary will, which is why I'm starting to really warm up to the classical magic user (I tended to idolize fighters, which seems funny if you know me).

Glitch (The Scarecrow) LITERALLY not having a brain (not a spoiler, you find that out pretty quick). I just about died laughing. He was also awesome. Funny and I became quite fond of the zipper on his head.

Raw was cute, too. Yay furry.

Cain.... let's just say he hit all my girly squishy buttons. Really, I just wanted to hug the guy. But DG did that for me and it was sweet. Really just like that girl.

Part of me thinks that Azkedellia (the Wicked Witch) was a slight cop-out (for reasons I will not go into for spoilery), but I really liked her younger version and who she was deep down enough to not be that annoyed. And she was actually referred to as sorceress, which sort of made me a little happy. And she was hot.

Overall, I rather enjoyed it, even if parts were predictible. Actually, I think that was part of the charm.

But "headstrong princesses" are the most awesome ever. ;p

The Tin Man sounds interesting I wonder if I could find it to rent somewhere as cable is to expensive to own.

Good luck with you final!!

I felt like you about the evil witch. And I thought the ending was a bit too simple.

PS--good luck on your exams!

Hmm...

I have to admit my initial reaction to seeing the trailor was along the lines of "><;;;;;;" but after reading your review, I may have to go take a look-see. :}

You're not the only one who puts her clock across the room :)
