So what is this about being awesome?

Alright, today is much better than yesterday. My schedule still is the crazy, but now that I've got it all laid out and stuff, it's way less daunting. Am taking some of my own advice and taking a wee bit of time out. Since today is gorgeous and simply biking to the airport for class is full of fail. I desired more outdoors, and more beverages, so I thought it about time to hit up the Asian mart, which was a nice little bike ride. Want to use some of my tea to make iced tea, as I finally found the ice machine, but alas, Drak broke my container of holding -1 (because it broke too damn easily). Maybe I can make a little and put it in a bottle.
I also really enjoy eating and studying at the same time. XD Have been trying new continuous eating combined with bringing more stuff to read during the sit-down meals I feel like going to (usually the ones I have time for, like today it was lunch).
This is pretty tempting. Dammit, though, why are all challenges like that based on ROUNDS? I hates deadlines and signup times. XD
Now to finish up my programming. Thankfully taking some time to sit in the dining hall to work on my pilot take-home exam thing worked out well. As it's totally done. Now I've just got a "flight computer" (the most badass circular slide rule of all time) extra credit sheet and attempts at memorizing all the questions in the Gleim book. We'll see how that goes. XD

Date: 2008-04-17 11:24 pm (UTC)If that's how you're defining crack pairings, you're doing it wrong. The second half of that sentence SHOULD be how you write crack pairings.
"And then Edea and Dracula had hot sex." is not a good crackfic.
"Dracula couldn't stop staring at the sorceress as she shephered the lost children of Traverse Town into an abandoned building and began treating their wounds, weaving magic and kind words into the most effective of healing techniques. She reminded him so much of his lost wife that he wasn't sure if he wanted to kiss her or destroy her - he only knew he had to get closer." is quite possibly the start of a good crackfic.

I'm just fond of dice rolls. XD

Date: 2008-04-18 12:22 am (UTC)Edea didn't notice at first, so focused was she on the task at hand, but the growing silence was what got her attention. No room full of scared children should be so quiet. She looked up as the children closest to her gently laid down, and even the child in her arms was fast asleep in moments. She quickly debated whether to ready an esuna or an offensive spell for whatever was approaching. Offensive won; sleeping children would likely be easier to protect.

"I only put them to sleep," he replied. "I did not wish to frighten them."
Edea narrowed her eyes at the intruder. "I wouldn't allow them to be hurt."
"Of course," he strode up to her too quickly for her to follow his movements. In a moment he was in front of her, his arm around her waist, and Edea could only try to pull away. He smelled like dirt and time. It was overwhelming. He held her tightly.

She almost hesitated; it was sort of thrilling to be so close to someone almost as powerful as her and as out of control as Ultimecia. Then she felt the thin points of his fangs against her lower lip.
Galvanized by the taste of her own blood, she pressed her hands against his chest. He leaned against them, thinking she was his, and then the fira spell welled up against him and sent him flying across the room.

Date: 2008-04-18 02:11 am (UTC)Edea didn't have to turn around to know that Cid was behind her. She readied another spell as Dracula stood, growling, and shielded herself and the children. She smelled powder a second before Cid's gunblade fired, and metal and fire both drove the vampire back as he tried to attack.
"Let me handle him," came a second voice, unfamiliar, and a whip cracked past her at Dracula. She looked out of the corner of her eye as a man leapt past her, dark hair streaming behind him.
Dracula smiled at Edea. "Looks as though we've been interrupted. Another time, my dear." He faded to mist and disappeared.
The dark-haired man gave chase, with Cid yelling after him, "You'll get him next time!" He turned and smiled at his wife as the children woke up around them.

Date: 2008-04-18 01:20 am (UTC)2) Interesting concept ... the prompts didn't WOW me though. It's a lot of sex. Be cooler if they had a little bit more diversity in them (you can write pairing stories without it HAVING to disintegrate into rutting, you know. XD) I suppose it must be a little bit difficult to write good prompts which are vague enough though.

Date: 2008-04-18 01:26 am (UTC)The pragmatist in me suggests that this MIGHT want to wait until you're more-or-less done the tasks you need at school... but it could be a fun project later on. :)
(And I'll likely be bored when I'm at home for the next two weeks soooo... ;) ).
