So, it's been a little hectic around here as we're getting the alpha phase of one of our projects ready for in-school testing at the beginning of April (in TEXAS no less). I'm not going along because hello, travel expenses and I'm not high enough on the totem pole, but this is still exciting. Like, you have no idea, I was a SME (subject matter expert) for the grant that funds this project, and designed most of the initial content (which has since changed, for the better, but still). ALPHA PHASE, GUYZ. TESTING ON REAL CHILDRENS.

While I'm having random last minute 'oh my god, what is this does this make sense in science' and 'DO YOU KNOW HOW TO MAKE A FLOW CHART CAUSE THE TEACHER'S GUIDE NEEDS ONE' things happening, I encouraged my interns to come in, despite it being Spring Break for both of them, if they were in town. One showed up today!

I also received an email from the ENE program, about the open house I'm going to at the end of the month, and the agenda looks awesome! Need to remind my boss a tad closer to the date to send an email to the professor he knows there, so that I am kind of pre-introduced. Now hopefully I won't say something stupid and reveal that I am not in fact the wunderkind previously advertised.

Oh, bah, shouldn't think like that. I am however looking forward to when I get my doctorate, because then I'd love to go up to that professor who hated me from undergrad and be all, "I have a doctorate too! WE'RE THE SAME NOW" and see if he turns any colors.

Maybe I'll wait until Sidekick gets his Masters at least. XD

Also, writing has been happening, though in the form of thinly veiled women in engineering meta. >.>

I will be gone starting half day tomorrow for Engineering Bitches Wine Tasting Weekend (aka WineCon) with the three bottles of the good local stuff I procured this weekend. I'll be bringing my camera, so we'll see what shenanigans get documented.

Oh and the nonfandom friending meme is fun. Hi new people!

Oh St. Patrick's Day, I'd almost forgotten about you. This means I get invited to impromptu things at bars with my coworkers and have to walk off a buzz before I can drive home, where I am then assaulted by my parents Being Catholic and have some more, so forgive any spelling errors I may make.

But things I've learned:

- The CTO lost his virginity in a very very small car. It was apparently uncomfortable.

- Superfun Girl was a complete loser in high school and was engaged twice, once to a con-man that made her move to Indiana. I still totally have a PLATONIC crush on her. Well mostly.

- Four of my coworkers have twitter names that are based on a negative emotion and an animal.

- Everyone wants to friend me on facebook now. Mostly due to my Heavy Metal Chick friends.

- I can outdrink most of the development team. They are skinny and a tiny and the long-haired one left in the middle to go back and work so he wouldn't fall asleep.

- What happens in San Diego does not stay in San Diego.

- Graphics Wizard does not get Lady Gaga. But he is a heterosexual male and LIKELY not to.

- I currently have the most old school phone in the entire office.

- Apparently my girlfriend needs to work for my company now because THAT'S HOW WE ROLL
