The crazy continues

So I got a call this morning from my dad (literally waking up, as my mom brought the phone into the room and handed it to me, and I was kind of cranky/sleepy) saying that there was an opening at the dentist's office for a cleaning I've been trying to get in since... forever. So I had to email work, and go in. Find out that despite my inability to floss and the occasional, ah, bad hygiene (I plead engineering... it makes you sort of forget hygiene sometimes) I have no cavities! However, one of my wisdom teeth grew in... sideways. The X-ray was kind of amusing. My dentist (who has been my dentist since I was a kid) kind of made a hilarious face looking at it.
Looks like I'm getting them pulled during spring break! I am getting an IV drip thing that'll knock me out, though. Because I am a weenie. The needle they have to use to put IN the IV may make me woozy, as I'm afraid of needles. So. Yeah. Fun.
I also have weird mouthwash for my gums now.
On the work front, there is an exciting possible conference call later dealing with this Engineering Education contract. See, what I had to design earlier was merely for a proposal, and the conference call will settle the issues between their curriculum and my idea (which involves space elevators, rockets, and basically the stuff I've been wanting to design since getting on the Virtual Astronaut Project). So when I got in, after the dental appointment, I was basically given shit tons of their materials (they're a non-paranoid group that's willing to share research materials... this makes me love them considerably) and have been relating tie-ins to our gaming environment platform and their lesson plans. Sounds vaguely boring when I put it that way, but it's been a lot of fun, actually. I like having more control over my designs again, unlike what was happening this summer where there were too many people and not enough management going on.
I've also decided since all the exciting shit is happening soon, that I will most definitely try to work this summer, even if it means taking a math class at THIS college (i.e., the one in my hometown, not the one I actually go to) because I know credits will transfer. Seven goddamn classes, man. SEVEN. That's all I have left!
For now I'm just re-reading through the materials, making sure I fully comprehend their educational model (they got into more advanced concepts than I thought they would, and this is a good thing. I wish I had this in junior high/high school). I'm particularly impressed they cover composites, which is something I'm trying to get into for a class next semester (because Structures is fun, involves less math, and did I mention it's fun?). Man, it's been a while since I've been in on a conference call or major meeting (I was in school for the past couple of Big Meetings). I kind of hope I get to do a presentation later because... I kind of like doing presentations sometimes, as long as it's for cool stuff.
And random; I got ANOTHER employment advert thing in the mail from the CIA. I may be a complete covert ops fangirl, but geez. That's just eerie.
Later I plan on babbling about an album, maybe two. Because I haven't done that in a while.

P.S. One of my quotes of the day is "What luck for rulers that men do not think." - Adolf Hitler. Why do I find it so apt for crap I've been hearing lately?

Date: 2009-01-06 09:28 pm (UTC)Anyway, good luck for when that one rolls around, and make sure to get yourself some ice cream. And yogurt. I was only able to eat that and like, hummus and Ritz crackers (if i softened them in my mouth first) for a week. D:
It's not bad though, just icky. Gargling salt water =/= good times.
It's fun to read about your work. Even though I don't know what you're talking about because of all the secret-ness and the math/science concepts (never my strong point), your excitement comes through and it's funnn.
The CIA wants youuuuu. *dramatic pointing gesture*
