Mostly about costumes.

I have my greyhound tickets, my registration, and I'm almost there on costumes! And today I had no class and am doing fine enough on homework and yeah.
Costume progress has been made! I managed to find a shirt that I can easily hack into something like a jacket for the gunner!Aeris costume, which makes Drak happy. I'm looking forward to wearing it because the boots I'm wearing are flats and basically everything is comfortable. Yay for comfortable costumes!
Since I don't have any pictures because I don't have a camera, here's some MSPaints on what's going on. Don't laugh at my drawings, it's hard with a mouse:

gunner!Aeris

steampunk!Auron
Not picutred on the Auron one is the shoulderpad thing for one shoulder, because I'm just reusing one of my Terra costume shoulder armor things and haven't figured out if I can get it to stick without gluing it on, as I need it for the Terra costume later.
I also found this LOVELY huge giant vintage pin to be the focal point for my Edea costume's hat, and break up some of the black (because there's an awful lot of it. Also moving the feathers to the front and stuff. I'd sketch it, but really, it wouldn't make much sense. Just know it's awesome. And I have peacock feather earrings now too. But that's old news. XD
I've got the buttons all marked out on the coat, I just need to get off by butt and SEW them. Buttonholes too. That part will take a while. Thankfully I intended on hand sewing that anyway. I wish I had one of my embroidery books around, I thought of doing a little. Oh well, likely won't have THAT much time anyway, especially considering I need to do some patches on that Edea dress still.

Date: 2009-01-20 08:10 pm (UTC)It's good to be a nerd. I'm really excited because I just fixed up the hat to be more awesome and have more accessories. I need an excuse to wear that outfit more. Maybe I'll just show up to class in it sometime. XD
