My Weekend: WineCon or The Longer Version

Let it be said here that you don't have to go somewhere all DESTINATION-like to have a really good time. While I think it would be fun to go visit some of those places that are MAJOR and like, out of the country, but random roadtrips and shit have been so entertaining that I don't feel the need for that yet.
Anyway, so I was in Buffalo, New York. Which is a lot like the Midwest except accidentally Canadians and cold and lots of people. There were many wonders to be had, and SevParents were good enough to shuttle us around to them.
Some things included:
- An amazing Mexican place where we had margaritas not fifteen minutes after arriving in Buffalo. Son, I am approve.
- An old school Five and Dime type of place, where we tipsily stumbled through and purchased materials for creepershark puppets.
- An art gallery where there were picture frames that had keyboard bits on them.
- A really big fucking mall of amazing, where I walked into my first Sephora (yes, I know) and saw clothes and shoes I want to buy for everyone and dress them in (as well as myself, of course). I ended up getting my hair cut there. Pictures of that later.
- A sports bar that had Buffalo Wings (FIRE IN MOUTH OMG) and waitresses with tiny little shorts and referee tops. I am approve.
- A most excellent liquor store where I located real Polish potato vodka to bring home to my parents.
And then there were the events in the SevHouse, which were also exciting.
- Staying in the YELLOW ROOM, which had the most comfortable warm bed ever, and was cute, and omg SevMom even left out glasses cleaner for us.
- Joining Team Nonshenanigans with SevMom and seeing how much SevDad is Captain Shenanigans.
- FOOD. OMG. SO MUCH DELICIOUSNESS.
- Wine and Officially My First Hangover. CONGRATULATIONS SEVPARENTS. YOU HAVE DISCOVERED MY WEAKNESS.
- Everyone in the house suddenly becoming a dance party and singing along with Bohemian Rhapsody, several songs of Jethro Tull, and Telephone. As well as the Ceiling Cake song. This is also where I decided if I was going to learn to play a rock instrument, it would be bass.
- Pudding shots. With raspberries.
- Many fun talks!
- Spaceballs.
tl;dr: I'm cheap and if you like where you live and can provide me a free place to stay, I will find ways to visit. XD You just have to be fun. Next plan? Train Adventure to Chicago and Cleveland. Need to find a good weekend for that, and if I can realistically tie it in with Mansfield Hill.
But open house first. Man, I LOVE being on the go, even if I'm exhausted.
Oh and pics or it didn't happen post is after this. I just had to break it up.

Date: 2010-03-23 01:03 am (UTC)I'll be going to/from AnimeCentral, which is in early May, if you are interested in having crashspace at that time. I won't go on Friday until 7pm-ish due to work, but you can either get a cab from here (not ridiculous) or for a much more significant investment of time and much LESS significant investment of money, you could get there via public transit.
