Still trying to brain today. XD So have some links and some videogame babbling.

- Literary bars. Books and booze.

- Why Women Don't Negotiate

- Funding education is a good idea

- Social Mechanics of Multiplayer Games

- Rebuild. A casual game after a zombie apocalypse that looks fun.

- Middle Earth according to Mordor

- Of Bad Odors and Good Yarns Finding science!

- Beatrice Shilling: Aircraft Engineer and Motorcycle Racer Dude, why are we not hanging out? Oh wait, wrong century.

- Bright and pretty yarns, since I have a couple knitters on here.

So, I'm going through a lot of PS/PS2 games that I wanted to play when I was younger but didn't have a console for (because my mom wanted me to read instead. fair enough.). The SNES type games are either being remade or ported for the DS, and I like that. Not that I can't play 2D games, it's just really hard to see them on my TV (it's a cheap HD one, so it works great with 3D stuff, but tiny 2D stuff means I have to sit right in front of it and no) and I think they work better if I can pull it out anytime, do a little grind, and put it down again. It's taken me months to get through FFIV, but aside from this last REALLY ANNOYING DUNGEON I think doing it this way has been best.

So I just recently ordered a PS1 card, so I can hit up the PS games, as apparently you can't play them on a PS2 without them. I had to get the Official Sony Card too, because I read that off brand cheap ones don't tend to work with the PS2-Slim, which is what I got because I remembered that my ex's PS2 tray thing started to freak out after a while. Plus the slim one is cuter. So I'm waiting a couple weeks for that to come in, as the shipping takes forever. XD

I also find myself buying games for the sole purpose of playing them with my sister. This is basically the only reason I own Kingdom Hearts, for instance. That is a game which is better played by two people. I tend to let her have most of the control, too, because I'm nice like that. She shares her DS games with me, so it's pretty even. XD Maybe I should buy her a PS2 for graduation, so we match on game systems. I'd buy her something NEW SHINY, but really, she and I didn't get into gaming until much later than a lot of our friends, so. She'll need something to help her de-stress from grad school.

But anyway, I like franchises, and I also follow specific developers. Like, I don't care if Shadow of the Colossus isn't as great as ICO, I still want it, because I like that team. I actually really enjoy those 7-10 hour games that don't eat up your life, I like to juggle them with the 70+ hour epics. I really like that a lot of those epics are appearing on portable systems, too. But all the established franchises are like NEW AND SHINY to me.

But here's a list of franchises that I had never played anything from before, which I started this year or last:

- LEGO games (Stars Wars and Batman, I play alone on my DS or on the Wii with my mom)
- Silent Hill (with Silent Hill 2, which was very thinky and I still want to play a couple more times for other endings, but I need to get a little braver first)
- Persona (with Persona 3: FES, a game that took me last summer to play, and was totally worth it. I still need to play the extra content, but I'd rather get through a couple more games first)

And here's franchises that I'll be starting soon!

- Fatal Frame (I am borrowing Fatal Frame 2)
- Breath of Fire (borrowing BOF3 and BOF4 I believe)
- Metal Gear Solid

I know that many of you played these games like five billion years ago, but this is all very exciting and new to me. I mean Silent Hill 2 really scared the crap out of me! Persona 3 really made me cry and feel all nihilist for a few days! Breath of Fire looks adorable and I really can't wait for my frigging PS1 card to get mailed to me. MGS has me a little nervous because I am not so good at shooting! BUT I WILL LEARN.

Anyway, the whole point of this blah blah blah is that I has games, and I apologize if I start flailing about things you played a bajillion years ago. It might be old to you, but it's new to me.

Also my backloggery trends make me happy.

Oh and the last time I was in a GameStop I got helped by a guy that actually bathed and didn't creeper on me! Too bad he was in College Town and not Current Town. D: Why is the GameStop here full of creepers or patronizing asshats (minus the girl who is nerdilicious hot and I make no apologies for saying that)?
