The Nano Debate
Oct. 16th, 2008 07:16 pmNaNoWriMo has been a source of trepidation for me this year, as I've attempted every year since I heard of it (sometime early in college? I think? my past blurs). I KNOW I won't have time for a novel.
So I'm going to actually write out that epic poem I've had in my head for years. XD We'll see how that goes. It's about time I flexed the old poetry muscles anyway. It's based on chess. Because I totally learned chess by creating characters. I named every chess piece, on either side. No, really.
I also kind of wanted to fill out one of those nifty Nano forms I've seen floating around (I think this one is specifically from![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
lassarina. But for my, um, poem. Ha:
Word Count: 0
Page Count: 0
Outline Quality: I have a few of the names written down, and a vague idea of the "battle", and possible casualties. Also a tone. This is something I'd read to kids. So no gore. XD
Soundtrack Quality: Instrumentals are being sought. Can't write my own poetry with someone else's in my head.
Scene Worked On Most Recently: None.
Scene to be Worked On Next: The introduction of the Epic Pawn of Black, Thelonius II.
Research of the Day: Um... stuff for school. Nothing on this. I need to look up some weapons. I don't plan on being very accurate to war tactics, this is my playground. XD

Character who hates me: The White Knight Gerard.
Character planning a lot of pain: Both the Queens. I mean. Chess. Think about it.
Character who doesn't understand why this is happening to them: Thelonius II.
...and it's because: He's a pawn! THINK ABOUT IT. Actually, he likes his honor and stuff.
