I have been doing much
Aug. 31st, 2010 02:43 pmSo this weekend I went and had a lovely time with my ladyfriend and some college friends. I can't really afford LONG vacations, so the periodic small weekender ones I take are good for my sanity (even if on Monday I wished I was still not at work XD). There was a hotel that we stumbled on by accident (with real keys!!!) that is now Best Hotel, visits to a sorority house as I'd never been in one (ha ha, I know rite?), anime times with the remainder of the West Laff crew, and sleep. Really effing good sleep. Aside from the wonderful company, I had a lot of good food and drink, which always makes a Taurean like me very happy. There was:
- Weber Grill restaurant platter (meat in all its wonderfulness) with a mimosa
- Morel Leek Cheese with a local Catawba wine
- Sushi from my favorite sushi place when I was in college: a roll with salmon, cream cheese, eel sauce, spicy sauce, and tempura-ed seaweed (Sunday Morning Roll), miso soup, some of a tofu dish ladyfriend ordered, and barley tea
- Fried goat cheese, grilled chicken with Irish "car bomb" sauce, and a nice red beer
And a continental breakfast and a wonderful scrambled egg, sausage, and morning after wine breakfast made by friends. ^^ Protip: best way to get me to visit is to either cook or have great restaurants to lure me to your area. I already miss the food and sleep. Clearly my destiny is to become a food critic.
I also handled a pretty big web presentation this morning, where I not only got responses for a pilot test, but also did a sales pitch! Now I'm suddenly in charge of promotional materials, because apparently I have some graphic design skills? When you work at a small company, I guess you never know what you're going to be doing. It's exciting. I'm not going to lie. So I'll be organizing that pilot test (mostly on my own), and trying to field different people's questions like a boss.
I have a Back to School mini-mix I need to post that I keep forgetting to.
I've also started a 750words account, to maybe help with the fact that I just don't write much anymore. Because that makes me sad. I'd blame videogames, but I also sew too... I guess perhaps having actual responsibilities at work have led to the decline. Considering I need to work on my![[profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
ff_megaflare story liek whoa (and keep myself from completely changing ideas), as well as you know, other stuff I like to write I think it may help. Even with entries! Which I am also lacking at writing much as well.
I also need to go to the bank like a grownup soon. >.> Also, finish playing Persona 3: FES, and get over the fact that the last boss kicked my ass and I have to fight it again. Quite an enjoyable game otherwise, with a variety of characters. I'll probably blab about it when I fully finish it.
Oh, and I did the Influence Meme on deviantart, because it looked cool and at least two of my friends on there had done it. XD My influences seem to lack color compared to other people's, hrm.
