What a strange day

Things always seem to start happening around here nearer to the school year, which kind of sucks because I have to go back to school during the school year. So there was a meeting yesterday, and another today. Had to explain the usual spiel, all that. Since the responsibility for the draft of the "hey, this is all our shit in the game environment" document has fallen to me, I've been working on that on and off with the math research and now that there's a biology teacher around, I've handed off my very rough draft of the greenhouse scenario.
And since we had a guest (the teacher, who's going to be working part time for a while cleaning up certain teacher supplement issues we have) and everyone likes to go out for lunch, we went to a little French place around here. Conveniently, it's a short walk. The owner is extremely charming, and since I know a un petit peu (excuse my spelling, I know how to SAY it) Francais, I got to catch some of the jokes he threw to the cook. It was also a buffet, which made it amazingly cheap, so I had some chicken in some sauce that was very nice, these cream puffs that tasted like pure cholesterol (which is what love tastes like, I'm sure), parmesan-y noodles, and salad and bread. I'm still waiting for the retribution from my stomach, but it was worth it.
So that was a nice start of the day, minus the meeting of course. Not that it wasn't productive, but I fidget a lot.
Then I sit down at my desk, get some feedback on things that need added to documentation, and I'm called over to be a prop. Apparently the company (or several tech companies?) is getting an article in the paper, and they needed pictures. So they pulled me over (and another younger guy that works here, one of the programmers) to sit in our gaming room to pretend to play a game (it was Halo... I think. I don't play shooters much, but picking the blue guy meant I got a better gun?). It was entertaining. So local dudes, it'll probably be Sunday, in the H-T. If you want to point and laugh.
I wonder what other shenanigans are in store, since the day is not yet over...
