Was good. I took the day off (aside from two hours this morning to work out some math for the Aero game) to finish my Yue costume, which aside from the wig I am going to style at the wig party tomorrow, is done. As much as I'm going to get it done at least. I think it will look great.

My mom was over at my place for most of the day because my dad is out of town, as she originally wanted me to come over to her house. Not that I don't like the house, but I still was in the midst of finishing work on the Yue dress. Turned out to be a pretty good day for both of us that way. I certainly hope she feels less lonely at least. Well, my sister is moving closer, so that should also help.

So starting tomorrow I'll be out at OTAKON. Which is why you didn't hear from me much this week. Let's just say that I got sick over the weekend, thus taking away the time I was originally going to spend making my Yue costume, work got crazy, and I almost lost my mind. Thankfully I had today to recharge and get shit done. And also marathon a season of Project Runway with my mom.

Now I just need to finish packing. OTAKON HERE I COME!!!

My mom is WICKED with the character Nightmare from Soul Caliber II. Kicks ass. She likes Ivy too, but says that "the kinky stuff she's wearing is a little distracting, even if the whip sword is cool".

Dad still only plays golf and other boring sports games.

Been a kind of interesting couple of days. By interesting I mean completely dorky.

- Started a game of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance with my mom. She doesn't like zombies, but we did have a hilarious incident where her human archer lost his clothes. This game is best in two-player, imo. You can laugh at all the shenanigans that way. Also, it is fun to poke her when we are in a dungeon and she's wedged herself into the couch so she won't have nightmares. Oh mom.

- Got contacts! Mostly for cosplay, as I am very fond of my glasses, but now I can see when in cosplay. I'd also forgotten just how grey my eyes were, I've been creeping people out. XD Have to wear them for a full week, and I suck at putting them in and taking them out. Cannot wait to be back in the simplicity of glasses.

- Doing more data stuff for the research paper on the game, which is a tad mind-numbing. Good thing I've taken this week to do my eye appt and talk with my financial advisor and stuff.

- Been getting through several games, the most fun being FFIV DS. Though, it and Persona 3 are at level grinding points, and I kind of hate level grinding. XD This is how it took me three times to defeat Scarmiglione, but thankfully only twice to do Cagnazzo. I've clearly been playing adventure games a bit more than RPGs, as I was all "JUST LET ME ADVANCE IN THE STORY" like a weenie. Still, I'm in Troia, and happy to see Edward again as he's really kind of awesome in the DS version and seeing his little harp on the ground while he is on the fainting couch recovering sort of makes me sad!

I also highly suspect he writes songfic about Cecil, and has 600+ followers on FF.net because it is BEAUTIFUL. Then again, I'm pretty gay for Cecil too, like everyone since he's gone paladin. Definitely going to put some time in and make his armor so I can do a proper cosplay of him.

Also, PS Kain: you suck, bitch. Mass defriending you.

So I looked at my cosplay list for Otakon. And ha, it's going to be awesome. I <3 putting FF things in strange eras. Behold.

- Steampunk!Edea (late 1800s dress, with various mechanically-inspired additions)
- Gangster!Veld (well, a Turk, but if I'm going Turk, I might as well put a scar on my cheek and wear something 20s/30s like this and scowl)
- Hip-Hop!Tellah (SAGEMASTER TELLAH IN DA HOUSE... Santa beard + huge loud clothes + grandma's bling? = awesome. Think 90s.)
- and Amano!Terra (which isn't actually a reinvention, but it's a pretty costume and I worked hard on the props, though I am half tempted to do an 80s rendition of it sometime, cause it wouldn't be a stretch. Side ponytail anyone?)

3/4 costumes are either throwing things together or already made (though I still should fix a couple things on my Terra costume). And the Edea one has most of the tedious work done (seriously, the amount of patching I had to do would drive a normal person insane... I found it soothing). Wings may not get made, depends on whether or not my mom is busy (because she wants to make them, it's her contribution). Since my mom LOVES her Wii, the chances are less. But I still have an AWESOME HAT and some other accessories to work on.

So, here's my To Do, which I SHOULD START WORKING ON TONIGHT and will probably go on up until August. AUGUST IS APPROACHING FAST OMG I AM EXCITED. it looks worse than it is )

It only LOOKS long.

And my mom is playing Wii as I type this. She turned it on this morning after taking care of some chore stuff--I may have to borrow some games from work, because she's quickly gaining skillz. I will have to ask for suggestions from work peoples on adventurish games. Am getting her a dance game for Christmas, and talking Dad into a WiiFit from him. Considering my mom has been talking about doing more stuff.

P.S. Didn't get to see all of Project Runway because of mom's birthday. Will find rerun. Am excited to see the results, because they brought back MY FAVORITE challenge and MY FAVORITE designer (Austin. I'm a huge Austin fan, he's such an ADORABLE little queen).

P.P.S. Dr. Horrible part II is up. <3!

P.P.P.S. SEV: THUG 4 LYFE.
